Course Description

Graphics of Strategic Communication (SCM 313) is an advanced, practice-driven course designed to train students in the strategic use of visual design for communication, persuasion, advocacy, branding, public relations, and media messaging.

Unlike introductory graphic design courses that focus on software or aesthetics alone, this course emphasises how graphics function as strategic communication tools across print, broadcast, digital, and outdoor media.

Students will learn to analyse, deconstruct, redesign, and produce professional graphics that communicate clear messages, influence audiences, and adapt effectively across multiple platforms. Through continuous hands-on exercises, learners will develop the ability to translate communication objectives into visually structured, audience-centred graphic solutions.

The course prioritises real-world application, critical analysis, and professional presentation, preparing students for careers in media, journalism, public relations, advertising, advocacy, and digital communication.

Course Focus

This course focuses strictly on the practical application of graphic communication principles for strategic media and communication purposes.

Eligibility
